I am being bullied at school and want to talk to someone about it before it gets too bad. Who would be the best person to talk to?

Ideally you should talk to your family or a teacher. If you feel you can't do that try Childline on 0800 1111. Bolsover School run a bullying helpline (01246 241111) available on Wednesday evenings between 4.30 pm and 8.30 pm.

Now that the school holidays have started I cannot get access to the school computers. I would like to use the internet, where can I go?

Anyone with a b-line card can get FREE internet and e-mail access in Derbyshire libraries. It might be an idea to book time in advance (up to 1 hour). You need to be a library member. To join simply take in something with your name and address and you should get a library card, again this is free.

I have a mobile phone but I am always worried that it might be stolen. How can I keep it safe?

Every month 10,000 mobile phones are stolen. Two thirds of the victims are aged between 13 and 16 years old. Here are some tips to keep your phone safe.

  1. Don't keep your phone in your hand, it's too easy for thieves to snatch it.
  2. Use the phone's security lock - if it is stolen no-one can then make calls at your expense.
  3. Tell the police or a parent straight away if your phone is stolen.

I would like to get a job in the summer holidays. Are there any restrictions?

If you are under 14 years old you are not allowed to work at all, other than odd jobs for parents, relatives or neighbours. In some areas you may be able to do a paper round.

If you are over 14 but under school leaving age you cannot work:-

  1. During school hours.
  2. For more than 2 hours on a school day or more than 12 hours in any school week.
  3. More than 2 hours on a Sunday.
  4. Before 7 am or after 7 pm.
