Beware the Problems with Credit Card Cheques
Most Credit Card Companies send out unsolicited Credit Card Cheques but are you aware that if you use these:
- The rate of interest charged is at the 'cash rate' ie. considerably higher than the usual 'goods' rate (eg. when you use the card to purchase goods).
- The joint liability provision given under S75 of the Consumer Credit Act does not apply.
If you have encountered problems with Credit Card Cheques, please let us know below. We will feed any responses into the recently released DTI consultation paper.
