The social policy report about CAB clients experience of tax credits, Money with your name on it? looks like being the most influential ever. It was the first item on virtual every news bulletin from 5.30 am on the day of publication.

By mid-afternoon the Prime Minister referred to it and apologised to those affected. The following morning the Chancellor of the Exchequer appeared on GMTV, which had received thousands of phone calls and emails in the previous 24 hours, and said the Government would do whatever was necessary to sort the system out.
