Are you sleeping rough in Chesterfield or North East Derbyshire?
If you are, Chesterfield Borough Council and North East Derbyshire District Council are working in partnership with the Salvation Army and St. Hughes Catholic Church to provide a nightshelter during winter months.
The nightshelter will be open every day from Monday 16th January, 9pm to 8am and is based at St. Hughes Church, Littlemoor, Newbold.
If you have nowhere to stay you can call in at any time when the nightshelter is open or you can phone 07812 139018 for more information.
16 and 17 year olds
Priority need status is automatic for most homeless 16 and 17 year olds: it is not necessary to demonstrate vulnerability. In some cases mediation and reconciliation with parents or carers may be appropriate. Although this will not be the case in many situations where a relationship has broken down irretrievably or where there is a risk of violence or abuse.
You can find more information on Shelter's website about the implications of the Act for agencies working with this age group.
